Journal Print lives at `/journal/print`. Pick a date range, pick how to group the entries (calendar week, asset class, or setup tag), then click Print. Your browser's print dialog handles the rest — print to paper directly or pick Save as PDF to drop a copy in Downloads. Every modern browser does this on every OS.
The layout is editorial — cover page with your name and date range, table of contents, then one A4 page per journal day with mood-arc, the four note sections (pre-market, live, post-market, lessons), screenshots, and the trades you closed that day. Footer on every page with the brand mark and `page n / of m`.
The grouping default is set in Settings → General. Calendar-week grouping (KW 18, KW 19, …) is the default for most traders; multi-asset traders pick Asset class, pattern-review traders pick Setup tag. The print view exposes the same picker as a one-off override.
- Browser print = Save as PDF — every modern browser turns Cmd+P into a PDF saver. The OS print dialog handles paper, PDF, or any other system printer (e.g. Microsoft Print to PDF, macOS Preview).
- One discovery surface, one button — the printable view IS the PDF generator; you don't have to think about which button does what.
- Calendar-week is the default for a reason — it matches how most traders review (week-in-review). Switch only if your review cadence is different.
- Untagged days don't get dropped — under tag-grouping, days with no tags fall into a separate `Untagged` section so a note-only journal still prints.
- Trade-only days still get a page — imported trades without a written entry get a slim page with header + KW pill + trades table. Activity always shows up in the booklet.
- Screenshots are A4-safe — capped at 70 mm height in print, 4 max per entry. Tall screenshots get cropped from the top, not squashed.
- Print-only chrome — gold accent, brand mark, page counter print exactly as on screen. Nothing surprise-rendered.
Monthly review weekend: open `/journal/print`, set the range to last month, hit Print → in the dialog choose Save as PDF. The file lands in Downloads. Print it, hole-punch it, file it. Now you have a physical artifact you can review on the train, mark up with a pen, and slot into the binder next to the prior months.
Mentor / coach handoff: same workflow, but pick the calendar-week range that covers the trades you want to discuss. The PDF is self-contained — they get your notes, your mood-arc, the screenshots, and the trades on one page per day. No dashboard tour needed.
Tax archive: end-of-year, set range to the full tax year, hit Print → Save as PDF. Combined with the Anlage-KAP export from the Settings tab, you have your complete tax year — narrative-side and numbers-side — in two files.
